If you're interested in delving into man's dark nature, A Rose for Emily is a good read. But in order to analyze it well you have to read it three times. This is because the plot is non-linear and does not follow a definite structure like the a-z or z-a type. Even the POV is different from the usual 1st person or third person. It's from multiple perspectives, the common people, the great observers (and tattlers) of the town. These made the story confusing and difficult to track. But over-all, it's a good short story much like the macabre short stories of Edgar Allan Poe.
