I’ll be honest, the story as a whole was pretty point blank, but the visuals, characters and the unique worldview really are so refreshing. WolfWalkers ventured where I’ve never seen almost films dare go, namely in the openly negative presentation of Christianity. Conservatively it may not be good but honestly I think it’s pleasant to see such a thing for probably the first time. It really opened up the long dusty Irish roots that I seldom see touched compared to other often more popular mythology cultures, and I felt rather touched by the movie in a spiritual way. The animation is nostalgia inducing as well and it brings fond memories of older Disney films, yet at the same time it’s not the same (in a good way), Cartoon Saloon has no doubt, and rightfully so, earned their place as an amazing and highly memorable studio. I scarcely doubt I’ll be forgetting WolfWalkers any time soon. Please go give it a watch !
