In 2024 the Utah Film Commission celebrates a 100 years of films that have shot in Utah. There are many classics that have been partially shot in Utah with only a few great ones entirely made here. Robert Redford's JEREMIAH JOHNSON would certainly be one of the best but the film with an Utah connection that I would like to see re-discovered and celebrated would be Kieth Merrill's WINDWALKER. Not only was it entirely filmed here the the director, writer, cinematographer, composer and other artists are all from Utah. Based on a novel by Utahn Blaine Yorgansen, WINDWALKER is a one of a kind masterpiece that deserves to be experienced in theater!
