Some people loved the movie and some are saying that its overrated, boring, ghisi piti old story.
Agree that its the old story but the way its presented is beautiful.
People are saying that we already have such movies like Ramleela,mughal-e-azam etc , but i would like to ask a question -Were you able to relate or connect to the characters?
One movie was a historical epic. Both were decorated with glitters, lavish palaces.Another, we had the stars Ranveer and Deepika. These movies were not realistic..These were set in a lavish and rich background. There was no simplicity . I was nowhere able to connect and it was just a plain old story for me.I could not feel the pain of the characters.
But the same old story has been presented beautifully by Nagraj Manjule with simplicity. The commoners being the lead actors worked like a magic and the story being set in a village showed us the reality of our country.
Its not the old ghisi piti story, its a condition still prevailing in many parts of our country.
I am a commoner and have seen such caste problems in other families.I was able to connect to Archie and Parshya and feel the emotions and pain.Reason being the simple realistic background and not the enchanting and lavish palaces.
Why people are saying Dhadak is not able to recreate the same magic.
It was the presentation, genuine acting of the actors,background/village where it was set and simplicity that worked for the movie.
Dhadak is again the same, glittering with lavish palace, the actress always ready with her make up and ravishing clothes.
People like what they can connect with.
I connected with the hardships of caste system they faced.
I dont understand much of marathi language ,still i could feel the emotions. It was so magically presented.
