It is the story of beautiful poetess ( Shayara ) popular for her soft and musical words, her representation. One poet heart her beautiful song ( shayari ) and he deeply fell in love of her words and voice. He try to follow her and seen her beauty and candid innocence . In one mushayara he was aware that she will definitely come. He attend that mushayara and before her announcement to sing he manipulate and came on stage. He sang the poem which was her own creation. She annoyed on stealing of poem. He was purposefully teasing her. Slowly this teasing converted to transaction of poems and beautiful love.

Benzir took him to hospital and insist to stay till recovery. Slowly he understood the kind nature of Benzir. Then he asked her to marry In this film acting of Meena Kumari is the excellent one. Her facial expression are extremely beautiful. Her beautiful eyes and movement of lips and uttering words enchant Nawab too. When Benzir was insulted by Chote Nawab expression from stun to swallow the cry is superb When he asked Benzir to marry with him, The expression , changes in expression and the resultant. All the painful act she did very nicely that we feel to see the film often and often The action of Shashi Kapoor tried match the acting of Meena kumari.
