My 12 year old who started trombone last year picked this up at the library. She read it in the car with a tablet next to her. She read it on every sitting break on the 5 mile hike her girl scouts took. She read it sitting on the couch on a sunny day. She read the whole thing in 2 days and then told me she wants to read more books about scout.
Please let me explain: this kid Does Not like reading! She has started all the "relatable" for her interests books i could find. I've been reading comics for a while and tried to get her into that with little luck.
She Picked this one because we happened to be at the library for lego club and it was on display snd she liked the artwork.
I was sending my relatives updates all day i was so excited for her like "SHE'S ON PAGE 144 ALREADY!"
She's telling us all about it and at the start of each chapter running to her room to try to play the music sheet. Everyone was invested in the story by the end.
Thank you for this book, we all loved the story of a kid who is so determined, more importantly to me you've managed to make a kid who is not a book-kid ask for another book. Thank you, truly.
