After 5 months, the game is still unstable. Has inconsistent frame rates, extremely bad frame times that often don't really have a reason for dropping or stuttering like they do. Even on an RTX 4090, with a 7800X3D this game performs horribly for the visuals and non-linear gameplay that it serves up. Still has numerous crashes that seem to trigger from preset animations or going in or out of dialogue, which is incomprehensible from a company of this size, with as many resources as it has. The story is good, but constantly interrupted by bad design choices, performance issues, bugs, crashes, stuttering and unstable visual quality.
After 5 months in Patch 7, they introduced DLSS for anyone that has an nVidia card (only around 80% of the total PC gaming market) and have introduced more instability, with frame generation enabled any stability you would otherwise get from the frame rate increase, the visuals make sure that's gone, with constant UI bugs and glitching, to weird graphical experiences throughout the gameplay which are extremely noticeable. It's hands down the worst implementation of DLSS 3 in any game to date. The ONLY thing I can say about DLSS 3 with frame generation enabled, is that the frame times are the same regardless of whether it's enabled or disabled, and I can't even begin to understand how that's possible in a released product.
It's clear EA and Respawn have absolutely no care or thought towards their consumers, not even covering basic QA or testing of their products or patches. 5 months after release, and they still have a very long way to go to making this the experience it should have been on launch with its price tag. I still would not recommend this game to anyone on PC and can only hope that console players get a more stable experience than what's currently on offer to PC players.
