The first half of the movie was disappointing. They did a poor job of introducing the new characters and the script was pretty corny. The actors probably did the best the could with the script but it felt forced and kind of boring. It seemed like a different set of writers did the last half of the movie though, because that was exceptional. It was thrilling, funny, nostalgic and definitely made the movie worth watching. I only wish the first half of the movie could have been half as good as the last half. Also, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, Penny is the admiral’s daughter. She was mentioned in the first movie but they didn’t give any clues as to who she was in this one, and none of us knew until we left the theater and looked it up. It would have been really nice if they would have made some mention of “Admiral’s Daughter” in this movie so we didn’t spend the whole movie confused as to who this lady was. It’s worth seeing for the second half of the movie.
