I feel for the victims--the first thing brought up, frequently, in such situations is how important it is for the abused to forgive the abuser. I know it's freeing to the one abused. I know it's in the Bible. But can we take just a minute to say, "I am sooooo sorry this happened to you! It was wrong; it changed your life; and the abuser deserves worse than he got. I see you and witness you and stand with you." When the woman knows that she's understood and that SOMEONE gets exactly what this cost her, it'll begin to be easier to forgive. Sometimes having everyone race to get you to forgive feels like abuse all over again.
