While it shows the true events and Western aid that made the rescue efforts successful, this movie does honor to all the Thai rescue efforts and sacrifices of the Thai people. It balances Thai language with enough English so that I didn’t feel like I was watching a foreign film but I also feel like I learned about Thailand. Movie writers in Hollywood couldn’t come up with a better premise and the film really showcases that sometimes reality is stranger than fiction.

It really brings history to life and helped me connect with Christ’s Passion in a way nothing else ever has. Be prepared to bawl your eyes out. I can’t recommend this movie enough.
