The movie was okay. It varied greatly from the book. The book had more interesting puzzles and the movie made the kids seem less smart than their book counterparts. Also, there weren't consequences like the book had which made me very much dislike the movie's ending. Also, while I think magic may appeal more to the Nickelodeon kids audience, there wasn't a magic world in the book which made the book seem like anyone who reads it could be in that library and solving those puzzles. So if you would prefer a more interesting story and characters, read the book. If u simply want to watch a cheesy and unrealistic movie, then go ahead and watch this film, though there are much better films you could watch instead.
