I gave this 2 stars because thouhgh it's visually beautiful, acting is on point and costume design is amazing I'd be surprised if they don't win an award for any those. But the writing leaves much to be desired I feel the writers where handed the answers to a test and failed Anyway. Even though they only had rights to the 4 appendix from The Lord of the Rings the writer still could have brushed up on their Middle Earth history and Incorporated that world without infringing on the rights that they were granted. They took the three most major characters and rewrote their backstories in histories and left out one of the most major characters that actually stars in this story he should have been the very first character that we met anatar AKA Sauron. I feel the directors and the writers were riding the coat tells of Tolkiens Legacy and wanted to make money and there is lack of passion for what Tolkien created let's be honest this is his life's work. Even the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit leave much to be desired and they left a lot of stuff out but at least the writers kept it as close to tolkien's world as possible with how the director wanted it to go nothing feels familiar in this adaptation. I've enjoyed the new characters Deza probably is my favorite I absolutely love her though I wish she had a beard it's something I can get over
