Sadly this movie did not get the expected warm release in India.. due to censor boards and political parties.. on 1992.. political parties made rally saying that it is a Indian relegious story why should it be directed by japanese directors?
Little did they think that it was an indo japanese collaboration where voice cast had renounced artists like Lata Mangeshkar and Om Puri etc..
Sadly this is the reason why our Indian animation is limited to Chota Bheem and Bal Ganesha.. feeling sorry to say this..
