I have no idea what they were going for but this is not it. Visually stunning however the entire show as a whole is just so ‘bleh’. I feel like I just wasted my time expecting something cool to culminate this show but it was just mild like it keeps edging you and then there’s no real climax. Or are they all climaxes? What a joke.

I loved the first Happy Gilmore. It’s a staple film from my childhood. So many iconic references and scenes. Happy Gilmore 2 did not disappoint at all. I laughed just as much as I did in the first one and honestly the references to original had me many quick belly laughs and I almost feel even more so than the original. I think people are always more critical of sequels and generally tend to under rate them because of their own internal bias. I think that if you loved the first one and you’re a die hard Adam Sandler fan, then you’ll love this one just the same.

I can understand what the lower ratings are saying. It was really not the greatest showing of this concept and some things seemed a bit rushed and scattered that could have had more depth and cohesion, however I also understand why people gave it a slightly higher rating. I find myself falling between both reviewers with it being a movie I wasn’t mad that I watched however there’s definitely plenty of others on my watch list I think I would have preferred to have chosen over this. Watch at your own discretion.
