This book did not live up to the accolades! I was unimpressed by the characters, and never found them interesting in the least. The idea of creating one’s own story is not new, and certainly this period of history lent potential to the novel being inciteful. But in this work, the author never convinced me that he knew what he was trying to achieve. I’m not sure why I kept reading. Perhaps, I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt. It was not a benefit the work deserved.
