I'm a big fan of the first Dead Island & Riptide, so I had a very high bar for 2. Fortunately, it checked off all the boxes and THEN SOME. First of all, the gameplay. The best thing about DI is the fun melee combat, and that's still here! I can whoop zombies all day (and have enough sense to run when I'm being mobbed *make sure your weapons are sufficiently strong*) and not get bored. There are also guns here, like in the first 2, and while they are certainly useful, the melee combat is where it's at! 2ndly, the vibe. Dead Island 2 pretty much goes all in on the humour, and it works really well! It's a game that knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously. Vehicles are absent but 2 is designed in a more linear fashion, unlike the first 2 which are open world, so there would really be no use for transportation. You get around just fine, I didn't miss driving around at a tbh. 3rd, the story. It's fine, I enjoyed it. Nothing ground breaking, but it kept me engaged just because of how ridiculous and wacky the whole thing is. And that's just it : this game is ridiculous and just a lot of fun. Once you learn the ropes and know how to keep up with the levels, you'll be having a blast. Tip: Make sure you keep upgrading your weapons or you will DIE! I learned this later in the game, but if you grow attached to a weapon and it eventually becomes too weak to use after leveling up (my favorite is the punctuator wrench with bleed autophage) you can level match it for $$! It will never be your absolute strongest weapon, which makes sense because it would discourage making new ones, but it will still be more than strong enough for ur current level. A++, 10/10 Guaranteed fun, don't miss out :^)

I played TLOU years ago and it's one of my favorite games of all time. So it's exciting to FINALLY be able to play 2... and it did not disappoint at all! First off, it's a beautiful game. I'm a millennial that often plays older games from Genesis to DOS to Psx, so I still get taken aback when playing a game that looks THIS GOOD. Environments are breathtaking, mechanics are fully developed and butter smooth, there's variety and dynamics, action is engaging and BRUTAL, and, of course, the story/narrative is intense; with powerful imagery. TLOU2 kept me on the edge of my seat because i had no idea wtf was gonna happen next (I made the mistake of Googling something early on because i didn't understand a scene and, typing in the name of the character, had a big plot point blown for me because of the Google drop down suggestions in the search bar. Luckily, this plot point happened soon after where I was in the game, so it didn't sting as bad but... never again!) & it makes me wanna take my time and search every nook & cranny, pruning thru the areas and savoring the experience, & some of the optional ones are dank/threatening... but that's how you know there's GOOD LOOT in there 😉 2 is much bigger in scope than 1, so there were plenty of areas i was unable to search completely, mostly when there were enemies around i was trying to sneak past. Srsly, some of these areas are HUGE and overwhelming... but they're designed in a way where i never got truly lost. And checkpoints are well placed (with time stamps!) so if you don't like the way an encounter is going, you can restart. TLOU2 is Exhibit A evidence that a solid story and great narration can really enhance a game. Especially if it's already THIS GOOD. Simply put, TLOU2 rules. I literally have no complaints! It's an excellent sequel to an instant classic, and most importantly, it's a whole lot of fun with plenty replay value. And that's the most important thing, I enjoyed every second of this legendary game & didn't want it to end. Highly recommended, DON'T MISS OUT! :^)

Rage 2 rules! I enjoyed the first one, and this followup is much bigger in scope. The combat is tight, sharp and satisfying. Lots of things to do in the beautiful post-apocalyptic world, but not quite to the extent of a game like Fallout because this is more of an Arcade Style game. Still, there is enough open space and rpg elements for those that enjoy exploration and upgrades. One of my favorite elements of this game is driving around in the many Mad Max style cars and exploring the map for undiscovered locations. Seriously, I LOVE driving around in this game (there is also a race circuit) Simply put, this game is FUN.
