This movie shows how patriarchy is deep rooted in our society and the fact that women put in a lot of efforts than men to make a marriage work and women are taught to be so by the previous generations. A dialogue in the movie rightly says that its a mistake of even mothers and mother in laws who have taught their daughters to make sacrifices to keep the family intact and not expect anything from men. It also shows how women are taken for granted and not given the due respect they deserve. The movie sends out a very powerful message raising awareness about the equality of women. Since this is deep rooted in our culture, the decisions taken in the movie is very far from reality, it can't be changed soon just by showing a movie. Though things in our society is changing for the better, it will be very long in bringing this change.
