It’s good for what it’s made for. Sequel full of cameos, running back old jokes, couple new gags in there but gives an overall enjoyable nostalgic watch. Won’t be remembered, but it wasn’t made to be a classic. Was made to honor the first one being a classic & to see some of our old friends again.

Solid entertainment for a singular watch. Overt in its efforts of satire comedy and presenting parallels with Germany in the 1930’s/40’s, Trump and the Republican vs Democrat current atmosphere. The plot line was interesting without those areas and I would’ve liked to see the films plot play out differently since it was a uniquely creative storyline of cloning Mickey + new planet/life form yet they leaned more into the political touch points. I also had no idea what the point of the “sauce” was and I’m sure it’s been explained by someone else, however having to look up deeper meanings with something so silly is not something I look for in my entertainment choices. Overall it started off interesting and Robert Pattinson portrayed an interestingly quirky character who was enjoyable, but it fell short of its potential to be a stand out new idea movie, in an era of remakes and sequels.

Well they missed another one. Just… bad. Bad accents from Aaron Taylor Johnson who plays Kraven and Russel Crowe who plays his Russian crime lord father. Crowe must’ve googled “Russian mafia accent” and just copied that, Aaron on the other hand should’ve googled something bc his accent goes in an out the entire film. Kraven gets his “powers” from Calypso (a young girl at the time who has seemingly modern parents but an ancient witch doctor grandma). The grandma gives Calypso a potion and tells her to guard it and she’ll know the right time to use it. Apparently the right time was an hour and a half later when she stumbled on Kraven after he’s mauled by a Lion his father forced him and his brother to hunt. This potion magically heals and gives him every animal in the jungles “abilities” which he uses for the next 10 years to combat illegal poaching. Oh and his brothers super power……accents!. He can make himself sound like anyone. I guess the superpower chest was empty when his turn came. There’s a villain who wears a backpack that can turn his skin into a rhino, along with another bad guy who can count to 3 and push his hand through your skull in a mortal combat wannabee finisher. The rest isn’t worth breaking down because no one is going to want to watch this movie twice and feel the need for a deeper dive into the world of Kraven. Put it on the list of superhero duds they can’t seem to make properly yet continue to churn out

From the opening scene it’s evident the writing in this movie is underwhelming to say the least. Just the most basic of basic dialogue tied into a complex conscious + mechanical world sharing plot. Millie Bobbi Browns performance is subpar, so is Chris’s Pratts. The film is set in the 90’s for some strange reason in an alternate universe that’s more advanced than we are now, yet they fail to reference or utilize any 90’s nostalgia that would make the viewer feel any sort of warmth for the era. “Mr.Peanut” is who they landed on to represent this time? I mean throw a Tomagatchi, a Walkman, or a game boy in there for goodness sake. Jason Alexander makes a cameo for some reason & it just as well could’ve gone to a no name actor bc it added nothing to the characters or background. Gus from Breaking Bad plays the bad guy who grows a conscience at the end but there’s zero character arc or insight into why he is so “anti machine” in the first place. All in all it’s a dud & made me question Millie’s acting prowess in anything that’s not Stranger Things related.

Don’t waste your time on this colossal bore. Dragged out for 8 episodes of utter nonsense. They tried to make a part time news anchor Jason Bourne except there was 0 action or thrilling moments despite rambling on for 8 hours. There’s literally a scene where the FBI agent hands the main character information on the final suspect with the message “I have a family, I’m scared, so here… you be the detective and do my job”. The show tries to push the narrative of corporate power controlling information and the world but at the same time the plight of the African American community and their ability to seek justice AS well as the historical mistakes of black male father figures. It’s all over the place yet struggles to nail down any of its intended story arc’s.
