This movie doesn’t make a bit of sense, and it’s extremely anticlimactic. It uses all of your run-of-the-mill “horror” tropes and it loses its shock value each time it tries to make something scary. They don’t do a good job of making things nostalgic since the Y2K trend is still being used today, and the end message is so generic I could pretty much recut it with how much I’ve heard it in the past: “live in the present, it’s no use being stuck in the past since life is short”. THE HYPOCRISY is astounding because that’s exactly what the main character doesn’t do (no spoilers, just an observation). I knew from the beginning that this was going to be a lighthearted version of Fear Street, but this is just so much worse.
