I liked the idea & I remembered wanting to see it when it came out years ago, but didn’t get a chance. I think it only played like one weekend in the theater & I missed it. I ran across it again and sadly, I see why it disappeared so fast.
Despite excellent performances by Luke Wilson and a few of the supporting roles, the story just didn’t feel told. It felt unfinished and contrived…even right down to the music. It was like the director never chose a clear path and went through phases of influence throughout the story. The random blood spot in what can only be described as the missed nod to student art films, was laughable. It’s a shame really. The idea was good, but, the execution was weak. I appreciate the moral, but, it just wasn’t a great film.
