Just watched the Padre Pio movie. Going to be very frank; wow, did they miss the boat on this movie. If you’re a Catholic who is not familiar with Padre Pio, you still won’t be after watching this movie. How do you make a movie about him and not even address or show the stigmata. Disjointed story line, mediocre acting (no Italian accent by Pio), nudity (yes nudity in a sacrilegious temptation scene), an F-bomb, and they did not do justice for all the amazing things Padre Pio had done. I was really pulling for it and am glad the actor had a personal experience but it was really bad. As a Catholic it’s hard to say a movie about such an iconic priest was bad, but objectively speaking, it was horrible. Could’ve been so much better. Honestly, I feel you would learn nothing from it. I'd give it a hard pass...
