“I walked out of this film, a rare move for me in over twenty years of avid moviegoing. Despite strong cinematography and a capable cast, the storytelling was weak and hollow. Worse, the movie functioned less as entertainment and more as a propaganda vehicle, demonizing Christian values, glorifying communist ideals, and portraying political violence as acceptable if carried out in service of far left causes. The trailer promised a witty, star studded action comedy, but the reality was a Godless, extremist, broadside assault against traditional American values. Is this what is now the new normal for Hollywood? It was neither clever nor engaging, just heavy handed political messaging wrapped in spectacle.
