From the beginning end, this had us transfixed. James Norton's amazing credible portrayal as a Father in an inconceivable situation is exemplary. The other main actors, as well, were top drawer. Beautiful scenery, houses, set and storyline makes this one series not to miss.

I had high expectations for this film after listening to Steve McQueen being interviewed by Nick Grimshaw...but to be honest it disappointed me and felt frustrating at times. The lighting was very dark and dull...sometimes hard to see the scenes with any clarity. Very fragmented /theme type elements and as others have said reminiscent of Dickensian Fagin characters as well as, in my opinion, Titanic with the metal gates to the underground being locked (I knew disaster was looming when that order was given) and then George swimming underneath to call for help. All of the actors, whilst being excellent in their own field, due to the lack of depth in their characters failed to bring any emotion to the film.
