HIT โ The Third Case
I watched HIT: The Third Case with expectations aligned to the intensity and grip of HIT 1 and HIT 2. Ranking the franchise so far, my order stands as:
HIT 2 โ 1st place
HIT 1 โ 2nd place
HIT 3 โ 3rd place
While HIT 3 brings Naniโs solid screen presence and commendable mannerisms, it falls short in storytelling. The core motive driving the plot felt weak and underwhelming. The first half keeps the audience guessing, with a string of murders and police investigations building up suspense, but without giving much insight into the motive behind the crimes.
As the second half unfolds, the revelation of the motive lacks depth and impactโleaving a sense that the story doesn't justify the level of violence depicted. The action sequences and violence could have packed a stronger punch if backed by a compelling reason.
That said, Naniโs performance is a highlight, and his portrayal carries much of the filmโs weight. The movie closes by teasing HIT 4, with Karthi stepping in as the leadโleaving room for hope that the next installment will bring the franchise back to form.
My Rating: โญโญยฝ (2.5/5)
In short: HIT 3 shows potential but misses the mark in delivering a gripping, meaningful story. Hereโs hoping HIT 4 raises the bar!
