I had a liver transplant in August 1997. I had been given 24 hrs to live by the doctors when a donor became available. I had been on the transplant list for 9 months. Watching 2 Hearts brought back so many memories and a rush of emotional feelings! I did write to my donor family and got a response from the mom. My donor was Beth an 18 yr old young lady who had the foresight at such a young age to know that she wanted to be an organ donor. Beth had a horse accident according to her mom and did not survive. This awesome young lady donated all of her viable organs and saved 8 peopleโs lives. Bethโs mom sent me a picture of Beth and her horse which I have carried in my wallet for 27 years now. I always had an 8 x 10 picture of Beth sitting on my desk at work. Beth always goes with me everywhere I go in more ways than 1. Yes I cried during the movie just like I did in the Will Smith movie 8 Pounds which has the same subject matter. Both are excellent movies, but 2 Hearts is a little more realistic concerning the donor family and the recipient family. Thank you Beth for Giving me โThe Gift of Life!
