An original idea to be sure. I did my best to go without knowing too much in advance and I was glad I did. Vibrantly directed by Ryan Cogler. Surprises abound including a beautiful depiction of the history of African dancing that is most unexpected. Do not leave the theater without watching the full credits. One more surprise is hidden within them.

The Sticky is a short series of six 30 minute episodes. All around good casting. The problem is that it finishes with nothing but loose ends. It’s as though the producers were trying for season 2 at the expense of season 1. Virtually nothing is explained. The main problem is that the theft of a huge amount of maple syrup is in retaliation of an overly zealous executive in charge of “the association “. A co-op of local farmers who store their syrup in a giant holding in large barrels. In actuality, if the theft is successful, the thieves will have ripped off their neighbors and fellow farmers, not the annoying executive. That’s but one of many plot points that make little or no sense. To waste such good actors on a script that wasn’t ready for filming is a shame. I can’t imagine that there will be a season 2 based on what I just watched which would mean that those loose plot points will never be ironed out. Depressing all around. I wasted three hours.

This is a remarkable film. Totally original and unique. Every part well played and it was impossible to guess where the story would go next unlike most movies today which are formula driven. This is an intelligent film that takes a sensitive subject and turns it inside out in the best possible way. Bravo to all concerned.

This is the most insane mystery I have ever seen. I hate watched the last two episodes just to find out how they ended it. There are holes in the plot large enought to fly a 747 through. Also, a huge gap in the end of episode six and the beginning of episode seven. Without giving it away...how are Cassie and her daughter released from the police basement? HOW? The second ending, after the ludicrous ending is gob smacking horrendous. Anyone buying any of this Harlen Cobin junk would do themselves a lot of good by reading a real mystery and seeing how it's done. I recommend "The Talanted Mr. Ripely" by Patricia Highsmith.

A terrific movie. Todd Field paints with big brushstrokes and allows the viewer to fill in the small spaces. Cate Blanchette is simply amazing.

It started off so well anf about one third of the way through it went sour and continued to get worse by the minute until that truly horrible ending. Do these two people ever spend a moment thinking about what they are doing? Obviously not. What looks to be real feelings simply evaporated in front of our eyes. Also, no one and I mean no one gets a commission check the morning a stock trade goes through for $575,000.00. I don't care how much she made for the firm. That's ridiculous.
