Ironheart is an amazing TV show for tech lovers and MCU fans alike. In the show we get to see the other side to Riri that we didn't see in Wakanda Forever, her personal life and the complex combination of emotions that guide her actions.
I've seen many reviews comparing Riri to Tony and saying that the show disrespects Iron Man's legacy but those people misunderstood the plot. The show gives Tony's legacy context. Here, we get to see the other side to Tony's legacy, the people he inspired and how they see him as a person and a superhero. Riri is not disrespecting Tony when she says she's as smart as him but lacks the resources, this is the reality in this universe and with Ironheart they are telling a different story inspired by this reality - note the difference.
A lot of review bombers also say that Riri is not a good character and they hate the performance by Dominique Thorne. I'm here to tell you that these people did not watch the show because Riri is a great character with a lot of depth surrounding here upbringing, trauma from loss of her best friend and stepdad and complex reasoning for good and bad. It is a modern take on what it means to be a young genius and furthermore, raised in Black culture and in an environment where your ideas are not supported or invested in.
The villains of the show are yet to be revealed but the mystery surrounding Hood, Zeke Stane formerly known as Joe, the members of Hood's crew and more is something truly enjoyable. The show also follow up from previous storylines like Obadiah Stane's son from the first Ironman movie, showcasing the complex lasting effects of the events from the movie and how they play in to new characters today.
The technical aspects of the show are really good too. Moving away from nanotech to the old school Ironman 2 style of the Ironheart suit is a
On a final note, I am not saying this show is perfect but the hate that this show has been getting is frankly ridiculous and it just goes to show how toxic, racist, negative and simply depressed some of the so-called "fans" in our community are.
Ironheart is a solid addition to the MCU and if you give it a fair chance, you will definitely enjoy it.
