IF YOU LIKE:
- Being sent back to the beginning of the story every time the pace starts to pick up, through the perspective of another character who will be forgotten about by the writers entirely within 20 minutes
- Having no clue when the movie is intentionally vs unintentionally being comedic
- Hollow attempts at symbolic imagery that are uhh actually super deep and compelling because they’re “up for interpretation”
- Losing count of how many plot holes this movie has
- An anonymous child narrator handfeeding you the most important exposition in the movie
- Heavy themes (like drug addiction) that aren’t expanded upon or paired with any sort of commentary surrounding them
- Forgettable characters with zero development throughout
- Completely pointless subplots that don’t end up playing any role in the plot or (lack of) character development after
- A child with almost no dialogue giving the best acting performance in the entire movie
- The feeling of insanity upon watching, after having heard so much praise for it by pretentious art students
- The feeling of regret for having not spent those 2+ hours watching a turtle race or paint drying
…then you are sure to LOVE this movie!!! I’m not too big of a fan of these traits, so it wasn’t quite for me.
