Will Ferrell was the surprise in this film. He's always been great in the comedy arena, but the emotional moments really were heart felt. It was a very pleasant surprise to learn he could sing. I have Ripple on playback. Ryan Reynolds dancing and singing was a breath of fresh air from the deadpool series and all the high action his roles usually are. The take on the Christmas Carol was ingenious. Seeing the story unfold from the perspective of the ghosts made this film far more interesting, than the original storyline. I was most impressed with the dance scenes and vocals, especially from Octavia Spencer and Will Ferrell.
The afterlife of Scrooge and his hope for redemption drove the plot, but throughout the film we never knew who he was before becoming a ghost, until he took Clint into his past. That was genius of the writers. There was never a dull moment in the film. I will watch this film for years to come. Hoorah to Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer and all the other amazing actors, dancers, and vocalists that brought this film to life.
