Recently, I saw the book on a 90% off shelf. I purchased it to read again as an adult. Good grief, it is nonsense with some theories taken from established philosophers and psychiatrists to make it sound legit. Although I tried to talk with a current Scientologist about my many questions, none would discuss them. I was told to purchase additional courses to understand better, even though I looked up every word to understand. No one could provide any answers. The people I asked repeated an odd script in which they all replied similarly, yet when I asked questions about what they shared, they couldn't answer. They couldn't explain anything and each one stopped the conversation. Dianetics is not, nor has it ever been used for mental health. It is science fiction from the 1950s. In my opinion, the e-meter is a way to get $$. If Scientologists really believed in it, it would be free for all "clear" the prison planet (i.e., Earth) so you can be happy. They do not, I think it is a sham. In my opinion, it is.
