I didn’t like the framing device of the dad telling the story to the kid. In my opinion, the movie would’ve been much better without their characters. If it had focused solely on Jesus’ life, I think it would have been less confusing for kids—especially since the story kept getting interrupted to return to the dad, the kid, and the cat. I also took off a star because the parables and key events in Jesus’ life felt really rushed. Lastly, there was little to no mention of Mary Magdalene, which was disappointing theologically.

Worth the watch, a really good movie
