I’m a nurse. One of the very best nurses that I ever worked with was a nurse in Vietnam. This book hit me in so many ways. Her privilege, her desire to help people, her desire to win her father’s approval and be on the hero wall, the first sip of water on arrival, the continued experiences in the operating room and I kept turning the pages and the gut wrenching response when she returned to the US from her parents, the public, and the VA. Thank goodness she had her 2 comrades from Vietnam and their forged bond. She had a tender heart broken multiple times. I love how it ended!! I would work with her in a 🩷beat!!
