Riveting. Intense and emotional, this series brings back the fears I had as a 15 year old in Reagan's "Star Wars" years of a nuclear holocaust. The made for tv movie "The Day After" had already broadcast a few years earlier, so nuclear devastation was something brewing in the back of our minds during the Cold War era. Then the Chernobyl disaster occurred, opening our eyes to the reality of the dangers of nuclear fission and the small grip humans had on controlling its power. This series delves deep into telling us the whole story, not just the bits of propaganda which were told to nation after nation. When watching, be prepared to get angry, sad and disillusioned-all while heaving a sigh of relief things were not as bad as they could have easily been. These are the tales that need to be told, so there is no duplication of this world changing event in the future.
