Good movie. Nostalgic for me as I experienced the ‘71 war as an Army kid living in Ambala. Good - 1. Finally good to see a movie on the Bangladesh liberation. 2. Tank fighting scenes were nice and not the usual blood and gore war movie 3. Imamulhaq’s acting 4. Ishaan’s dancing was a treat as was Arijit’s super rendition of the Vaar Vaar song 5. Absence of romantic angles in the movie was refreshing The not so good 1. Art direction could have been better. It was a missed opportunity to bring authenticity to the movie. The house interiors could have been more “fauji” with MES type furniture. The trunks could have been regular army trunks as one finds in most fauji houses. Despite the father and brother being war heroes there was an absence of any Army memorabilia in the house 2. As an officer chiefy wouldn’t be ironing his socks. There would be a batman for that. There should have been more research into an Indian army officer's life 3. The brashness in Ishaan’s character and the disobedience was out of character for an army officer. Since it’s based in a true life account, this is a bit surprising. 4. Lastly the song Vaar vaar while beautiful visually, was clearly 60s styling and not the 70s.

Absolutely superb. The plot, the direction and fabulous acting. Gut wrenching, twisted, a binge watch. Cant wait for more seasons

Disappointing on many levels. Selection of cast and their acting and sorry to say, their English accent? Dialogues were stilted, editing was pathetic with awkward pauses. Note to Mr Sarkar- serial killers with neck spasms is a stereotype that you could have avoided. Jimmy Shergil could have reinvented his look rather than sport a dark, floppy hairstyle that makes him look sadly ageing. Most of all - if making a movie based in UK with English actors, have a cast that is comfortable and fluent in English. They will probably act better. The dialogue delivery with Bhatia’s strong Punjabi accent and the stilted English of the girls, was cringe to say the least. Do not watch
