Well done noir piece that has several nods to Hitchcock. Beautifully filmed with great use of the location. You can't help but feel a little sorry for Marilyn's boyfriend, he got in way over his head. Cotten gives a good performance and maybe it's his somewhat similar persona in 'Shadow of a Doubt' that also connects to Mr. H.
