Critics here are reviewing this movie like it's the sequel to the titanic. It's a kids movie. A loveable, comedic, musical kids movie. So ask the targeted audience about their opinions, whom are mostly children. I for one, am now 16 years old, and I have to say I grew up watching episodes of the 80's chipmunks and was big fan of them. I didn't watch the live action movies right as they came out, I watched them a few years later by checking them out from the local library. Let me tell you how much I enjoyed the films, I would constantly renew them and made it as a tradition to watch the movies at least once ever year. Now looking back, and revisiting my childhood memories, I recently watched all 4 of the films and it was like watching them again for the first time. I enjoyed every second of it. Sure some jokes and lines might be outdated, but the music never failed to brighten me up. As for the sequel, it is probably my second favourite of the chipmunks franchise. My first being, well the first movie. This one covered many take aways, such as body shaming, where Theodore and Elenore are both judged but then find comfort with each other. Another one being family comes first, where Alvin gives the example of leaving his brothers but then feels regretful, and shows his worth for being forgiven by saving Theodore's life. All in all, this movie was great, a huge kids movie success. I approve this movie for children, teenagers, and even adults if their not too serious about movies. It's a fun movie not something to take scientific notes on. PS I would LOVE a 5th movie!
