This really was a let down, story wise. I see other people commenting on how we feel like we got bait switched, and catfished. I agree. The number one thing that my partner and I kept asking was: “what on earth is going on with the plot? What even is the plot?” The animation and style is absolutely stellar, but it can only take a show so far. It saddens me to feel as though we were hyped for something completely different. I wasn’t opposed to having Scott killed off, but he was gone for like 6 more episodes!! And the ending? What even was that? My partner and I just died laughing because Scott as a person is OBSESSED with Ramona, to the point we couldn’t believe that he didn’t even try to talk to her for ten whole years????! It just didn’t make any sense. I’m a fan for new stories, but it should be labeled as a new story. This didn’t feel like an adaptation, just filler to show off side characters and fan service for Ramona to make some Netflix bank. I still suggest you watch it, and hopefully you can find some enjoyment. But it just turned into a drinking game for us towards the end- lol!
