I'm going to write my review now while it's all still fresh. I just sat down and played both Alan Wake(Remastered: also first ever time playing, aside for when it first came out in 2010 and I got bored), and Alan Wake II. This game is a direct continuation for the most part, showing what Alan has been up to in the 13 years since he saved Alice and stopped The Dark Presence from coming into the real world. This game while keeping elements from the original like manuscript pages and the Taken, it has a more updated approach to it, the combat is more fluid and different enough to feel fresh while also familiar. The story is just as good as the original and you can feel the love of writing come through. And it's also added to by having two protagonists, that of Alan and also Saga. The way the two come together and the way the story really interconnects Saga in the real world and Alan in the Dark place is a masterpiece. I loved every hour I put into this game, the graphics are phenomenal, the way they interweave live action into the game is also great, it's like they took features from both Quantum Break and Control and formed the perfect narration tool and seamlessly transitioned them into the game. Speaking of Control, having AW and Control connected in the way that have makes perfect sense, I mean we knew it was coming from Control's DLC but still it fits the story perfectly. This game deserves praise, it really is a fantastic game, especially for a sequel these days. The love the team put into every aspect is palpable. The negative reviews from users having technical problems or those that are too impatient to play for more than hour to get into the game picking up should be ignored.
*Also to those of you who are complaining about the game running poorly on your barely mid tier PC's from 6 years ago, that are more equivalent to a budget starter PC these days, cry somewhere else, get a current Gen console or upgrade your computer to something current first, before you leave a negative review talking about how your 8th gen i5 and 2060 can't play the game at over 50fps on medium.
