Corny, bad acting, and horrible cgi instead of creative gore. Pretty much everything I disliked about the original IT movies except amplified. The hype on TikTok is what convinced me to watch in the first place, and also lead to an even bigger disappointment. It’s praised for its brutal scenes right off the bat, and yet they’re not engaging because I don’t care about the story, I’m not rooting for the characters, and the gore itself is flat and honestly predictable. When I watched the first episode, I found myself cringing and constantly checking how long was left just 20 minutes in. I struggled through the second so that it had a chance to redeem itself, and I won’t even bother with the third. If you liked the IT movies then you’ll like this show. If you didn’t, then this show won’t change your mind. It’s nothing groundbreaking though, and absolutely not what the internet made it out to be.
