I had to come back and rewrite this review. The show is a masterpiece in its own right. There are a few hiccups but not so huge that they take away from the amazing storytelling.
In my opinion, the world building was exquisite. Fire nation felt like the fire nation, earth kingdom felt like the earth kingdom. The scenes were alive everything felt like it was supposed to be. You could tell the difference in their designs.
The backstory elevates the Original story in my opinion. Being able to see what happened it creates more depth and we really get to see Aangโs loss. What he lost. The people, the culture, the animals, it was an entire livelihood of a nation and so we are right there grieving with him.
The characters were beautifully translated into live action. Every actor gave their own spin on the characters. Donโt go expecting an exact replica of each but open your mind to receive everyone as it pertains to this storyline and how itโs being told. Youโll enjoy it.
I mean even Ozai gets some personalisation thatโs unexpected. I truly enjoyed seeing this Ozai.
All in all keep ab open mind, enjoy it. Or hate it, whatever. Itโs up to you. It was beautiful.
