Charlie Hunman was good in his portrayal of Gein but the show was so off base.
We hoped to see a good, well acted and mostly truthful portrayal of Gein, after being impressed with the Dahmer story. And we love true crime.
This was so confusing with time jumps and “is this a fantasy or reality” clips strewn about. The jerking off scenes were unnecessary. One or two, fine (and boy is Charlie in good shape-yowza!) but as many as he had to do? I felt bad for the actor. I give him credit for having the balls (pardon the pun) to do it so many times.
Also, the writers fabricated what seems like 80% of the show. If you’re going to tell us a “true crime story” how about just sticking with the facts and not your made up fiction? We wanted to learn more about Ed Gein, not have to look up what was actually real.
My husband bowed out mid 6th episode and I forced myself to finish the series.
Other than some of the acting (Metcalf, Hunman) being really good, this was a total waste of time.
