Having devoured all of James Herriot's books, I couldn't wait to watch the series. Here in South Africa we didn't have the privilege to watch the original series, so unfortunately cannot compare the new with the old, but I can recommend this series to be on a "must watch" list for everyone. All the characters are authentically portrayed with warmth and humor, and the setting is simply stunning. Love it!
