Bong Joon Ho has once again surprised the world with another beautiful, strange and thought-provoking film in 2019's "Parasite." The film stands apart from the rest of the works of social commentary from the past decade. In a shocking turn of events, this film maintains a consistent tone once it shifts to a new one. It's difficult to review the film without spoiling it, and as master director/writer Bong Joon Ho puts it, "See it with no idea what you're in for." I give it a 5/5 because it is one of those films that reminds us that you don't have to follow formulae that have become so in a particular art-form. If you're an artist, this is the kind of film that reminds you of what a medium can become with hard work, passion and a really clever idea. Go and execute your vision!
