I loved watching Avatar:The Last Airbender animated series as a kid. When We found out they made a live action I was obviously intrigued. Upon watching the movie I can honestly say that was 103 minutes that I will never get back. Now since they announced a new live action series and the animated series just got on Netflix I decided to revisit the movie just to see if it was as bad as I remembered it to be. It was worse. As the movie kept going I found myself so infuriated that I had to stop not even 20 Minutes into the movie, and the reasons are as follows. The characters lacked their humor and sense of immaturity. Sokka didn’t have that same delusional humor that he does in the show. Aang has no child like wonder, and Katara didn’t have her witty sarcastic comebacks. Characters like Zuko and Iroh lost their complexity. The acting was very low energy and dry. The plot was choppy, and the action scenes were just disappointing. As a whole the movie doesn’t deserve even one star. M. Knight Shymalan really did a disservice to a phenomenal show, and disrespected the entire fandom.
