This is my beyond favorite show of all time and seeing it run season after season is amazing. Not all shows do that and carry on storylines well. It can seem repetitive at times, but overall there is a lot of material to unpack and write about. Some of it can be very dramatic, but that's why we keep watching it. Right? Fires, guns, theft, illness, etc. but in as family-friendly way as it can be.
The only reason for 4 stars is how they wrote Lou. Her story with Peter and Mitch is heartbreaking and honestly, pathetic writing. Mitch left a woman at the altar for her and he gets CONSTANTLY screwed over by Lou. She walks all over him and takes him for granted countless times. Her feelings are always back and forth on things which demonstrates that she really doesn't grow much throughout the course of the show. The reason for her and Peter's divorce was valid, then to bring in Mitch was a great addition. Feels like such a waste of time with an actor and phenomenal character to the show. He's given so much time and energy to the relationship and family and for her to say "see ya" for her EX EX EX husband, is downright awful writing. Very disappointed with Lou's storyline.
