A miserable, nasty, misanthropic film. A period drama, set in Ireland in 1923, which seemed to have little depth of understanding of that time. The script was irritatingly littered with contemporary expressions like 'tough love'. There have been previous movies like 'Jean de Florette' that explored nasty, neighbourly conflicts in historic rural settings much more convincingly. Prepare to be depressed if you watch The Banshees of Inisherin - I wish I had not.
