I thought the plot was overly complex but the ongoing relationship between Strike and Robin is gripping and made the book hard to put down for me.

Unconvincing, stock characters, clunky, very sub Agatha Christie (American version), transparent plot structure…the worst thing I’ve seen on Netflix. I only persisted to the end to see if it got better and to find out “who did it”.. I was surprised to see an accomplished actor like Nicole Kidman in it…but neither she nor any of the other actors could do anything good with the script.
