Just an FYI, in case it makes a difference to anyone, the neighbor is played by Jeff Bridges not Kurt Russell as stated in a review by someone else on this page.  Kurt is usually more in the action genre and Jeff usually plays a cerebral sort of Renaissance man!  But I digress, this was an excellent film and much more than the usual coming of age story.  The Only Living Boy In New York is more of a love story for the ages with a great twist at the end. if you followed some of the subtle inferences and foreshadowing you may find it predictable so sometimes its best to sit back, enjoy and let yourself be immersed in the story. The cast is spot on and the interesting conversations between the characters were very well written as a phenomenal soundtrack weaves in and out of the scenes from beginning to end!  Enjoy it with your favorite pint whether that be a Bass Ale or a Ben and Jerry's!
