Wow, I've read a few books about WW 2 but this one is the most impressive. I have to say it's not easy to read about the conditions, and suffering these brave men went through. Mr. McEnery's descriptions of the horrible events he experienced will take your breath away and make you realize how terrible war is. He was a very humble man and I hope and pray he is at peace in the afterlife. As he stated: 'People say we were the greatest generation, I say the greatest generation was the ones that raised us." I am so thankful for all those that took part in that war and won it for democracy. In my eyes, they were truly the greatest generation. GOD BLESS those brave soldiers of all branches of the military. Read this book, you will not be disappointed.
