Arun Matheswaran is perhaps the most promising young director in Tamil, having stamped his class with his masterful debut directorial “Rocky” which has captured the imagination of audiences with its raw narrative style and engaging characters. Despite the weight of expectations, his second foray as a director, the direct-to-digital release “Saani Kaayidham” is an entertaining watch, anchored by a superb lead performance from National Award winner Keerthy Suresh, ably supported by director-turned-actor Selvaraghavan, who keeps increasing his stock after being one of the lone bright sparks in the disastrous “Beast”.
